                Forum Rules
           and Guidelines

Be sure to read all these rules and guidelines before posting. By abiding by these common sense rules we can all enjoy our time here.

…Only ONE account per user. Do not create multiple accounts. If you do without letting the Admins know reasons for multiple accounts all your accounts will be removed and you will be banned. If you attempt to create another account to bypass your IP the ban your IP address will be blocked/banned.  NOTE: You are responsible for your account. If someone hacks into your computer or another person uses your account you are still responsible. If you suspect such please message an Admin/Mod ASAP to resolve.

…Be polite respectful to other forum members and staff. Re-read what you have typed, check spelling, etc before you submit your post. Think first, re-read and ask yourself if this could be offensive, or be taken the wrong way to other readers of the post. Other considerations when posting are will your posting be seen as degrading or disrespectful.  This would hold especially true with heated discussions. Please refrain from using foul language. Others will take you more seriously if you don’t curse or swear.

…Please…NO flaming or bashing against other forum members, breeders, bird stores or suppliers. Do not use this forum to air out or complain about your problems or disagreements elsewhere if said person is not a member to defend themselves. Such posts are at the discretion of an Admin/Mod to edit or remove.

… This forum is based in the United States. Post in English only.

…Please do not post in ALL CAPS or use excessive punctuation …???!!!!???...It comes across as shouting and very distracting.

…NO SPAM. Spam is considered as making many successive useless posts for any reason. Those posts will be deleted. If the member persists they will be removed and banned.  To expand on this this would include posting links to competing sites, non bird sites, porn or offensive matter. Signature links should also be bird related. If not bird related the IP address will be blocked and the user banned. No exceptions.

…Posts/threads that promote unsafe practices may be subject to being edited, closed or deleted and the discretion of the Moderators.  NOTE: While opinions may vary on what is considered what is safe or unsafe for birds we do not permit the posing of photos, videos or links to sites showing birds with natural predators, unsupervised birds in dangerous situations.  The reason is simple.  We have many first time bird owners that will seek out groups, chats or forums to learn more about their birds and to be a responsible bird owner. Many may be impressionable and read or see something that may think is okay to do.  For example some people may have other pets (like a dog or cat) in their household that are friendly to and get along with their bird and will relay to others that their birds have been safe when in close contact with this pet.  A LOT depends on the training and disposition of the pet BUT accidents, sometimes fatal can happen when either bird or pet gets startled.  Cat/Dogs can be predators and revert to natural instincts and see the bird as prey.

…When posting a new post, since we are a multi species forum please include the species of your bird in the subject line. Use a descriptive title for your situation. Do not use titles such as “Question”, “Help!” Etc.

…Post in the proper forum meaning question of a possible Bird Health issue is posted in the Training forum.  If we see a post is posted to the wrong forum we will move it to the appropriate forum where it can be responded to.

…When giving help/advice it is preferable that it is given from hands on personal experiences only. If is something that you have heard (hearsay) or read please state this before you give any advice. In addition, if possible post a link to your source for others to read and determine if it is applicable to their situation.

…Please respect others copyrights. This is in respect to photos, illustrations and articles.   When posting a photo it is preferable that you use your own.  If you don’t have one of your own, but can find something similar then you can post that and a link to the original source.  Also, please do not do a copy/paste from articles found on the web and use as your own words.  Post a link to the complete article.

…Please don’t bump threads.  Bumping is when someone intentionally will  make a random  comment as a means to have the post move up on the board.  If you are concerned over your post not being answered message a moderator to look into it.

…If you notice that  a post has broken a rule feel free to let a moderator know. We are not always on the forum at all times so your help in stopping problematic posts and/or members is greatly appreciated.

…We wish you have a pleasant experience while using our forum.  If you have any suggestions on how we can improve please feel free to let us know.  Thank you again…Enjoy!

…Oops, almost forgot this, which I’ve found is a common problem that can occur in groups, chats and forums.  Please do not use this forum  to guilt-trip or ask members to contribute money toward any of your expenses for whatever. This rule helps to inhibit and/or close the door to scammers.   Some ways that we can curb our members from being duped are  absolutely NO LINKS to crowd funding sites such as GoFundMe, or send $$ sites like PayPal etc. Also do not post the links off this forum where people may take advantage of you for personal gain.

…NO SOLICITING OF BIRDS FOR SALE.  NOTE: If you are a breeder you can add your website in the Members Pages in the Bird Resources forum. Any information for sale, etc should be on your page/website.  If you have a bird to rehome  or looking for a bird post in the appropriate forum. When posting include your location.  DO NOT post rehoming fees etc on the board. Take it private in a PM
